My name is Lori Wilson and being a teacher in my opinion is both a  privlige as well as a huge responsibility.

Helping teenagers learn and develop skills and knowledge that they may require for the future is the essence of why I have choosen Teaching as my career path.Children’s learning needs to be fostered and facilitated both individually, by taking into account their individual interests ,experiences and life situation, and collectively by including the wider community and other social networks that may affect the child’s learning experiences.

Somedays it may seem as though not much was achieved, but being there to support and listen to a child may be the best thing that could happen in thats childs day.Sometimes the food cooked in food tech classes is the only thing a child will eat all day , praise from a teacher instead of verbal abuse and bullying may bet the only positive thing a child has herd in a week. The reality is that some people have a very rough childhood and encouraging and being their to listen to a child is an integral philosophy that I hold dear to my heart.

I also believe it is my responsibility to ensure children are aware of the importance of their learning journey and not just the end product of their learning experience.

I hope that my life experiences can benifit others and encourage them to try and be the best they can possibly be.As a member of the teaching profession, I plan to be an actively involved Teacher.  At a minimum this will include attending school committee and staff meetings, participating in professional development workshops, and volunteering my time for various school /social events.I strongly believe becoming a active member of the school and broader community is an important part of being a well respected professional Teacher.
